Lise Delaplace is a graduate from Tufts Universite/School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA USA (Bachelors of Fine Arts 1998)
She lives in Paris France, and has exhibited her work in the Boston area since 1997.
She also exhibits in Paris in différent 'Salons' and Juried Exhibitions in Europe.
A Choreographic Artist, and Ballet Pedagogue for many years, she has worked all her life with her specialities today... body and form, rythm and movement, colors and lights.
" In reaching the Summer of my life now", she says that she naturally felt attracted to the world of Fine Arts, and that when she was introduced to the Museum School in Boston, a marvelous change took place in her life; but it wasn't such a drastic change because she continued to model bodies, just like she had always modeled the bodies of her ballet dancers. Although, it took about 10 years to model a dancer's body, it now takes just a few weeks to complete an expressive sculpture in clay. After sculpting, Lise likes to give the works time during the raku process.
Raku is quite impossible to control, and this time period is the chance for each pièce to express itself during the firing, and reveal its own charactere.
In Printimaking, her ideas for décors, costumes, colors and lights take now life on paper
" It is i so rewarding to see the melting of colors moving and changing, the depth and the lines appearing or disappearing when a print come up."
Her monotypes, monoprints, and mixed media works, some with collage, some using différent mediums, are actually the works that best portray her interest about memory, dreams and nature.
Searching images in her "imaginaire" her printimaking work is mostly abstract, but she often uses symhols, to convey movement and line through the balance of positive and negative space.
" I hope when people view my work, it 'speaks to them' and that it enchant them into a wonderful and delightful viewing experience."
